THE SCHOOL HISTORY

On March 1, 1907, Ethel Walton was appointed Headmistress of Dundee Girls’ Government School. This started the history of our school. In 1920 the school re-opened under a new dispensation. This school would henceforth be known as the Dundee Junior School. In 1965 the Dundee Senior Primary School was established when the Junior Primary Phase moved to new premises in Cornhill Street. This separation existed until the end of 1993, when both schools were closed, and the Dundee Junior School was opened on 1 January 1994. The physical amalgamation of the two schools took place on Friday 18 March 1994 and on Monday 21 March 1994 the learners walked over to the premises in Excelsior lane from the Junior Primary School in Cornhill Street.
